Day 1:
We will pick you up at your hotel with transportation and your guide to start the tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We head 33 km outside the city of Cusco to start this great adventure.
Taray viewpoint 3200 masl: It is the first point from where we can really appreciate the entire Sacred Valley of the Incas, such as its landscapes, mountains and the imposing Vilcanota or Urubamba River.
In this viewpoint we can take magnificent photographs, it is common to find some children who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of tourists to offer them the catalogs "that they themselves make" and of which they feel extremely proud. The road continues, and if you are lucky, you will be able to see the Huancalle and Pitusiray snow-capped peaks.
Pisaq 3762 masl: The first archaeological center to visit is Pisac, this archaeological center is one of the few examples of original names that we can know its meaning, this derives from the Quechua word Pisaq or P'isaqa, which means partridge (a type of hen very abundant in this area).
About the architecture of this Inca enclosure we can say that it is an important archaeological center that combines mystical Inca constructions and the natural wealth of the Urubamba Valley. As was customary in Inca architecture, the cities were built on the basis of figurative traces of animals. Pisac, had the shape of a partridge, as its name indicates.
Pisac Market 2950 m.a.s.l.: In this beautiful Andean town of Pisac, traced by the Spaniards in 1570. You can still appreciate mud and adobe houses, white walls, blue balconies and tile roofs with 2 waters that makes our spirit connect with the old.
Its famous Pisac Market or Pisac Craft Fair, is one of the most famous of the continent, usually open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays in the main square of Pisac. You can get all kinds of agricultural products and medicinal plants as well as souvenirs.
In its old church is celebrated every Sunday, the mass in Quechua with the assistance of seven Varayocs of the highest communities such as: Motupa, Saccaca, Viacha, Cotataqui, and Paru Paru; who dress typically and carry the "rod" or scepter of command for which they are called "Varayocs".
Urubamba 2860 m.a.s.l.: After a morning full of emotions comes our rich buffet lunch in one of the restaurants that offers the best presentations of typical dishes of the Cusco region.
Ollantaytambo 2.792 m.a.s.l.: Ollantaytambo at the time of the Incas, was a Tambo or lodging town, it was a key point to reach the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu through the Inca Trail,
Ollantaytambo is one of the most monumental architectural complexes of the ancient Inca Empire, commonly called "Fortress", due to its massive walls.
The architectural type used, as well as the quality of each stone, worked individually, make Ollantaytambo one of the most peculiar and surprising works of art made by the ancient Peruvians, especially the Temple of the Sun and its gigantic monoliths.
The straight, narrow and picturesque streets today form fifteen blocks of houses located north of the main square of the city, which constitute a true historical legacy. Some colonial-style houses are built on beautiful, finely polished Inca walls. The tones of the stone are cheerful, of a petrified flower color, dark pink. In the main square a large block of perfect edges fits in a double row its fifteen earth star angles.
Chincheros 3,762 m.a.s.l.: On the way back to Cusco we will visit the picturesque village of Chinchero, where the remains of the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui are located. You will admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes in the portico, built on the foundations of an Inca building. Return and transfer to your selected hotel in Cusco.
